Great idea – I’m going to ask one, and see what responses I get.

Though I think we shouldn’t stoop to their level… it sounds fun!

I’m going to go post one too. BRB…

edit: Yay. Posted a question. Zero answers. :(

    Great Idea!

I asked about Dark matter and dark energy and got one surprisingly thoughtful answer that is now the best answer!

It would be out of place. Probably more so than a horoscope question in the astronomy question.

Horoscopes have never pretended to use information about the composition or evolution of stars. They simply consider the fixed stars as a template for the position of the moving stars (aster planetes in Greek).

However, if I were a true believer in astrology and understood what you were doing, I would probably answer with:
Do you have the exact time and place where the star became a ZAMS?

[Let's say you would provide the info]

Then, I’d say, something like: “at that particular moment, Jupiter was in quadrature to Mars; this means that your 7 M(sun) star will have a short and violent life, as the chief god cannot tolerate being confronted by the war god. They are both strong headed so that the star, caught in the struggle, will become red, puff up and then explode, leaving a big puff as a warning to other stars.”

    But then, maybe not.
I might consider it the equivalent of a 2012 question.

Why would any self-respecting, intelligent person ever deign to post to that foolishness?

It would be like asking an ant to solve a calculus problem, or a preying mantis to perform heart surgery. They just wouldn’t be equipped to handle it.

are you asking for a ok? well ok.

It might be a neat offshoot to SETI. A search for intelligence among believers in Astrology. Don’t be surprised if it takes years to find a hint of intelligence there.

Adam is in my contact list while you are not, Malcolm. I was really surprised that he posted a question he can answer himself and that though marking it with a star, you didn’t answer. Hahaha! When I looked into the category, then I know someone’s playing a game. Finally after going through the A&S pages, I saw your question and then now I know. Judging from the frequency of askers and respondents in that category, Adam’s question should have been answered by now (3hours later). That means they are either not so polite to direct his question or they are too dumb to have any answer at all. A part of me tells me that it is rude into testing their responses but when think of the many people who purpose post questions in the A&S page because they cannot get good answers in their respective categories, then it might be well worth a try. Hehehe, though.., I would never dare.., Hehehehe again..,Some even post their questions again and again after it gets deleted every time. And we here, never stop responding and giving sound answers, actually very good answers. Now all I need to do is wait til Adam’s question gets deleted after someone reads this question.

    Clear skies!

Oh, excellent. I think we should ask them where Scorpius is.

It would be over the heads of the people who regularly post there.
